Virtual Venice News - Pat Hartman
Hello good people,

If you're in Venice or anywhere close, stop by the Rose Cafe where the Virtual
Venice webslave, Pat Hartman, has some paintings in the current show. Of course
there is also plenty of other great artwork too, all thanks to the indefatigable
Karen Black, who has showcased the work of countless artists in this venue over
the years. This group of pictures will be there until Nov. 12 or maybe longer,
depending.

"Rubber Tramps" is a documentary we love, and it was partly shot in Venice where
you will recognize some local folks. That's why "Rubber Tramps" has a page in
Virtual Venice
http://www.virtualvenice.info/media/rubbertramps.htm
And now "Rubber Tramps," a film so multi-faceted that one trailer is not enough,
has a new trailer on YouTube.

JJ Fortuenti, the talking joint, has also had his own Virtual Venice page for a
while, and now he has more of them to explain, with the help of his friends, his
philosophy. The "Lit & Lovin' it" menu is on the left-hand side of this page:

The latest addition is a conversation with an imaginary ethnomusicologist named
Stokely C. Green, about the Willie Nelson bust

Written by the celebrated and eccentric cartoonist Angus Oblong, this dark comedy explores the hidden nooks and crannies of a haunted hotel and its spectral inhabitants. When a young couple checks in, the ghosts and ghouls do their best to provide a raucous and spine-tingling welcome. This "onstage cartoon" will be told in the signature Rogue style of hyper-theater and will include many puppets, projections, and digital media. Created and written by Angus Oblong with direction by Mark Valdez. Performances will be Thursday - Saturday, beginning October 20th through December 2nd.

When a young couple checks into a beautiful old hotel for a weekend getaway, the resident ghosts and ghouls do their best to provide a raucous and spine-tingling welcome. Celebrated and eccentric illustrator Angus Oblong (Adult Swim's The Oblongs) has created a living cartoon, and The Rogues, a collective of multi-disciplinary artists and designers, bring it gleefully to life with a mix of live actors, puppets and digital media in the Rogue's signature "hyper-theatrical" style.
